"My neighbor...is a scum bag. He murdered and robbed nine people...and got away with it! Now...HE is going to hell...but me, I have never murdered anybody, nor have I done anything worse than cheat on my taxes. Don't tell me I'm lost and on my way to hell!"

"I attend church weekly, I am a good wife/husband and good to my children, I give money to the poor, I help little old ladies cross the street, and I don't sin that much. Are you telling me I'm going to hell!?!? you're nuts!"

"I am actually confused about the God, Jesus, Buddha etc... How do you know that the Bible is the only source of truth from God and not the Book of Moron? or the Koran (i.e. Muslim scriptures)....etc..etc."

"I just don't believe that God would ever send anybody to Hell. I mean, what kind of a loving God would send people to hell forever? Since hell does not exist....live it up!"

"I don't even believe in God! I think we came from evolution and when we die, we will just return to the dust of the earth."

Statement:

My Response:
Most people will not come out and make a statement exactly like that, but this type of belief is quite common. A few things that you might want to consider if you feel this way.

1. God must judge and condemn the sinner because He is Holy and His justice demands it....ANY SINNER.

2. We are ALL sinners and God must deal with ALL sinners, not just the really really bad ones. Whether we cheat on our taxes, lied to our mother once, or commit nine murders....God can not turn away from ANY sin. Sin on ALL levels must be dealt with somehow, not just blown off.

Romans 1:18 "For the wraith of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness."

Romans 5:12 "As by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned"

James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

Final point about this.....
Your opinion of how you act or how you stand before God is irrelevant. My opinion is equally irrelevant!! What matters is what GOD has to say about it...(that is why I quote scripture often.) Many other verses could be listed here...but I think you get the point.

I now understand God's view on sin. Please explain how I can get my sins forgiven.

Statement:

My Response:
Please understand that attending church, giving money to the poor, baking cookies for the school bake sale, working your butt off to put food on your table for your wife and kids...etc etc..are good things to do. However, there is one important fact that you might be overlooking ...THESE GOOD WORKS NEVER TOOK ANY OF YOUR SINS AWAY! As pointed out in a previous excuse...we are ALL sinners and because of our sins, we all deserve death and to be eternally separated from God because of our sins. There is NO amount of good works that could make you right before God. If you did a horrible crime, like murder for example; but before you were caught..you did thousands of good works....are you still guilty of the crime of murder??? Sure you are! And the courts are still going to find you guilty of that crime and throw you in jail for a long time..

My Point?
1. God does not give hoot about your good works (as far as your salvation goes.)
2. Your still a sinner that needs a saviour.
3. What your opinion about (sin, God, works, etc.) really means ZERO in the light of God's Holy word (the Bible.)
4. You might be the nicest person that walked the earth since Saint Catharine IV of Beltonmont; but that does NOT make you sinless, and certainly does not give you a free pass on your sins before God.
5. NO scale in Heaven is going to weigh your good vs. your bad and if your good out-weighs your bad...your getting in! Remember....

My Response:
It is true that hundreds of different religions have existed for a long time. One of the beauties of Christianity is that you don't have to accept the Holy Bible on "blind faith." Faith is obviously part of it, but the evidence to support the claims of the Bible are too numerous to dismiss. For example

1. The Scientific evidence. The Bible is full of Science! Many scientific facts only recently discovered! I will not list my arguments here (I'm not a scientist, and its too much info) but check out the links below

Over the last 100 years this type of argument has diminished a bit due to the fact that MUCH of the Old and New testament history has been verified. There have also been scores of lost cities, artifacts, etc...that have been found to verify the claims of the Bible.

Another great discovery was the Dead Sea Scrolls found in 1947 by some shepherds. You'll have to read the history behind these scrolls, but the whole argument that "thousands of years of re-writing the Bible will make it corrupt" was proved WRONG. Many books were translated and found to be almost exact copies of some of the books we have in the Bible today. Interesting web-sites about the Dead-Sea Scrolls...

3. The Prophetic evidence. (i.e. statements made by men such as: Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel that did not come true until hundreds of years after they died.) There are hundreds more that will someday come true due to the fact that God is not finished doing the things He has lined up and He keeps his Word. Here are a few that you can read up on:
Born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14) Fulfilled in Matthew 1:21-23)
A descendant of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3; 22:18) Fulfilled in (Matthew 1:1; Galatians 3:16)
Of the tribe of Judah (Genesis 49:10) Fulfilled in (Luke 3:23, 33; Hebrews 7:14)
Of the house of David (2 Samuel 7:12-16) Fulfilled in (Matthew 1:1)
Born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) Fulfilled in (Matthew 2:1; Luke 2:4-7)

As far as the other religions go, I do not trust them due to the fact that they have NO evidence for what they believe. I can point to the accuracy of the Bible because the facts that are listed above (Historical, Archaeological, Scientific, and prophetic.) Again, faith is definitely part of any religion, but Christianity is the Only religion that can back up its Holy Scripture with evidence.

One more idea to think about...There is no science, history, prophecy, (that is written about in the Bible) that has ever been proven wrong or inaccurate. The Bible is correct 100 percent of the time.

My Response:
Lets take these one at a time....
1. Hell does exist and ironically enough Jesus himself talked about it more then anybody else in scripture!

2. Hell was created by God for the fallen Angels who rebelled against him, but will also be the eternal home for the lost.
2 Peter 2:4 - "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment"
Matthew 24:41 - "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels
Matthew 10:28 - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell .
Matthew 23:33 - Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell ?

3. There will be a judgment day for the people who died in there sins.
Revelation 20:10-15 - " And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11    And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12    And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13    And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14    And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15    And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. "

4. ....Live it UP!
Luke 12:19-20 - "And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?"

My Response:
There is no proof (regardless of what they taught you in school) for evolution.
God clearly explains in the Bible how he created the Earth in six literal days.
I could write 3000+ pages of stuff for you to read here, however I do not believe anybody would read it.
