Wordy version.

I was born and raised in the Catholic faith, I was baptized, and attended Catholic mass every week until I started attending another church on Wednesday night's. I was too young to really be interested in theology and such things; I really went there because they had a Christian type Boy Scouts called Royal Rangers. Shortly after I started attending this church I was introduced to a book that I had rarely seen before, it was called the Bible. I had seen the Bible before at catechism, but it was considered more of a holy relic and something that really couldn't be interpreted unless you were a priest. In catechism, if we had a question about a lesson that mentioned the Bible, the teacher would go get a Priest. When I was finally confronted on my beliefs as a Roman Catholic, I simply replied "well I normally attend Catholic church and I have been baptized, received confirmation, received penance, and generally do my best not to sin." I was then shown some gospel truths found in the Bible that totally turned my world around. In a nutshell I was shown that basically 95% of my beliefs could not be verified in Scripture. Even more shocking was all all of the contradictions I found between the Roman Catholic belief system and the Holy Bible. for example I was always taught that Mary was sinless, she was the mother of God, never had any other children, was assumed into heaven.....to my surprise I found out that all of these things were false!! It goes way beyond Mary though, I started questioning : :Salvation, the Church, the Mass, etc. and after a bit of soul-searching and growing up I finally got converted into the true Christian faith. this Christian faith is not part of any certain organization or anything like that, I was basically baptized into the body of Christ. It was quite a simple thing; I was shown in Scripture how Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for my Sins on the cross. I was shown in Scripture that by simply putting my faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ that I can be forgiven all of my sins, (past, present and future) by simply accepting the free gift of salvation. The person explaining this simple truth to me, did not have to use cutting words, fancy speeches, or anything of that sort; he simply showed me the plain and straightforward language of the Bible. As you'll see in other places on my web-site, the Bible verses are right there and very easy to understand. As I grew in my Christian faith, I felt it necessary to share my faith with others, especially Roman Catholics. Since I know what I was taught as a Romans Catholic, I feel a great need to witness to them about the false-ness of that church. Please read through my web-site and email me any comments, questions or rebukes you have.
